2022 Ford F-250
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2022 Ford F-250 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Out in East Ventura, in one of those commercial lots off the main corridor, a woman called me about a spare key for her 2022 F-250. She had one working fob, wanted a second in her bag, and had already called the Ford dealer to ask what it would take.

They told her to come in, that the blank would need to be ordered, and that she was looking at multiple days plus fees she was still trying to add up when she called me. She laughed a little when she said it, the way people do when something is annoying but not quite surprising.

I pulled up with everything already in the van. Confirmed the VIN on her door jamb, matched it to the correct fob, and connected to the OBD port under the dash. On the 2022 Super Duty, adding a key when you already have one present is a cleaner process than an all-keys-lost job. I had the new five-button fob enrolled, the blade cut, and every function tested in under 30 minutes. Lock, unlock, the remaining buttons, passive entry on both front handles.

She held both fobs up side by side and asked which one was new. That is the right answer.

The dealer quote was still sitting in her texts when she paid me. She saved a good chunk.
