A retired guy up in the Sunset Hills area of Thousand Oaks had a 2019 Q50 that needed a replacement smart key. The nearest Infiniti dealer was well over an hour each way. Towing the car there would have cost more than the key work itself.

I worked on the car at his property. Underneath the Infiniti badge, the Q50 runs the same Nissan NATS6 platform, same 46 chip architecture in the KR5S180144014 fob. I used my programmer to pull the PIN from the BCM, built a new 5-button smart key with a fresh CR2032, cut the emergency insert blade on site, and registered the fob through the diagnostic port. Standard proximity check after that: walk every door handle for passive entry, test the trunk release, confirm push-button start from both front seats.
He had two working keys before I left. For Infiniti owners outside the metro core, mobile service is not a perk. It is the only practical option.
