Bard Reservoir area, right off Westlake Boulevard. A Q50 owner discovered their smart key wouldn't unlock the car after a yoga class. Dead fob, but not the battery.

I pulled up with my IM608 Pro and checked the fob first. The KR5TXN7 had power but wasn't transmitting. Circuit board failure. These 2024s use a newer chip design that's sensitive to drops.
Connected to the OBD port under the dash, entered Infiniti security, and waited for the BCM handshake. While it processed, I cut the emergency blade on the new fob. The ESCL module took two attempts to accept the new key. Common on 2024s when the battery has been sitting.
New key registered, tested all five buttons, checked the walk-away lock. She made it to work that afternoon. The dealer would've kept her car for days and charged way more than what she paid me on the spot.
