2006 Infiniti Qx56 REMOTE-HEAD-KEY Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A recent college grad over in Stevens Park had just picked up a used 2006 QX56 from a CarMax lot in Santa Barbara. Good truck, fair deal, but it came with one key. The salesperson told him to get a spare on his own.
He called the Infiniti dealer. They quoted him a number that didn't fit the budget of someone who just financed his first real vehicle. He found me online and asked if that was normal for a luxury brand. I told him it was, but underneath the Infiniti badge this is Nissan's F-Alpha platform, same bones as the Armada and Titan. The key procedure is identical.
I met him at the lot before he even drove it home. His key uses FCC ID CWTWB1U751 with the PCF7936 chip, running NATS5 through the BCM. I matched a new remote head blank, cut the blade to the NSN14 profile, then pulled the PIN through the OBD port with my programmer and registered the transponder. The whole thing took maybe 25 minutes.
We tested all four buttons: lock, unlock, panic, trunk. Transponder start, clean every time. He drove home with two working keys, and that second key means if one ever goes missing, the next one is a quick add-a-key job instead of a full all-keys-lost recovery with a PIN pull and BCM reset. That difference alone saves a lot of headache down the road.
