2007 Infiniti Qx56 REMOTE-HEAD-KEY Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call from a woman near Alice Keck Park Memorial Garden in Santa Barbara. She had a 2007 QX56 with a cracked remote head key, the shell split right along the seam where the two halves meet. Buttons were mushy and the lock button only worked if she squeezed the housing together while pressing.
She had already been to the Infiniti dealer. They quoted her a full replacement fob, cut and programmed, and told her the cracked one could not be repaired. No mention that the internal PCB and the ID46 transponder chip were perfectly fine. Just a cracked plastic shell causing the button issue.
I met her in the driveway with a replacement CWTWB1U751 shell and my NSN14 Lishi for the Nissan/Infiniti high-security sidebar keyway. Popped the old housing apart, moved the circuit board and chip into the new shell, and verified all four buttons plus the transponder response. Then I decoded her original blade and cut a fresh NSN14 key to match.
She stood there watching me test the range from the end of the driveway. Lock, unlock, panic, trunk. All clean.
The whole visit was maybe 35 minutes. She kept the same chip, the same programming, the same electronics. Just a new shell and a fresh blade. A fraction of what the dealer wanted for parts that still worked fine.
