Out in Sea Air, I got a call from a guy who'd just moved to Oxnard from out of state. He had one fob for his 2016 CX-5 and wanted a spare before he got settled in. Reasonable thinking.

Then I did the part that actually proves the job is done: walked every door, tested touch unlock on both front handles, and ran the start button cold with only the new fob present. It woke right up.
He had a working spare in about 35 minutes. No tow, no drop-off, no waiting by the phone for a parts callback. The dealer route would have cost him a day and a lot more money. That was an afterthought by the time I was packing up.
