A guy in RiverPark called me on a Tuesday afternoon. He'd bought his 2018 CX-5 used about a year back and it came with one fob. One. He knew that was a gamble from day one, and sure enough, the fob went through the wash. The electronics were toast.

The immobilizer enrolled the new key, I tested every button, tested the start, walked the door handles. Total time in the structure was under 40 minutes.
He asked if he should get a second spare while I was there. I told him that's always the smarter move when you've already been through the all-keys-lost situation once. He thought about it for about four seconds and said yes.
Two fobs made. Neither of them went through a wash cycle to get here.
