I got a call from a guy in Woodcreek, up on one of those hillside streets in Camarillo where the road narrows down to barely one lane and there is nowhere to turn a full-size van around.
His 2013 WRX was sitting right there on the incline, not going anywhere. He had lost his only key and the dealer's answer was to figure out how to get the car to them first. He couldn't do that without a key, so that went nowhere.

He told me he wrote graphic novels. We talked about that.
When the timer cleared, I finished the registration and handed him the key. He turned it in the ignition right there on the hill. Started first try.
The dealer had quoted him a multi-day turnaround because of the all-keys-lost situation. He saved a good chunk and never had to move a car that couldn't move.
