A condo board president near Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura called me because a tow truck couldn't fit into the underground parking garage at her building. Low ceiling, tight turns, no flatbed access. Her TL was parked on the lowest level and the dealer told her she'd have to figure out how to get the car there first. I used my VVDI2 to read the transponder data off her original, cloned the ID 13 chip onto a fresh HD108-PT blank, then cut the blade to match her door lock. The whole immobilizer handshake on these third-gen TLs is between the PCM and the coil antenna around the ignition, so once the chip data is right, the car just accepts it. No server connection, no online registration.
Tested the new key: doors, trunk, ignition, let it idle for a minute to make sure the immobilizer light went solid green and stayed there.
She watched the whole thing from three feet away. When the engine turned over, she looked at me like I'd picked a safe. I walked out 35 minutes later and she drove out on her own. The dealer would have needed the car in their bay. I just needed a hallway.
