I got a call from a guy parked near the College area of Ventura. He had one key, it broke off in his hand -- the plastic head separated from the blade while he was pulling it out of the ignition. The blade was still inside the cylinder. He had the broken head in his palm and was standing next to a car he couldn't open and couldn't start.

He turned the key, the engine started, and that was the whole job. Done in the parking spot where he'd been standing for the better part of an hour. He mentioned the dealer wanted him to tow the car in and come back the next day. He saved the tow, saved the overnight wait, and paid a fraction of what that dealer visit would have cost him.
