2002 BMW 7 Series
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2002 BMW 7 Series Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I was parked near the Mountain Meadows area in Moorpark when the call came in. Guy plays tennis at the courts out there, found me on YouTube before he ever had a key problem. He'd watched a BMW key replacement video, saw the actual procedure filmed at the car, and saved my number on the spot.

Months later his 2002 7 Series fob started losing range. Not dead, just getting short. He'd be standing right next to the car and it would barely respond. Then one morning it stopped unlocking the doors reliably. He tried a new battery himself, seated it, and it helped for about a week. Then back to the same problem.

When I got to him, the fob itself had seen better days. The internal contact points were oxidized and one had a slight bend from repeated battery swaps. New CR2032, cleaned and straightened the contacts, and then the part that actually tells you whether it worked: walking every button, confirming range from a real distance, and doing multiple start cycles to make sure the vehicle security system was reading the key cleanly every time.

He didn't need a new fob programmed. He needed the existing one brought back to working condition on site, no tow, no appointment, no waiting on a VIN-ordered key from the dealer. That's most of these calls. It's not always the big procedure. Sometimes it's just doing the small thing correctly.
