2015 BMW 7 Series Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call from a guy at Esplanade Shopping Center in Oxnard. He had just bought a 2015 BMW 750Li from a private seller. Beautiful car, one key. The seller told him to get a spare on his own.
He called the BMW dealer first. They quoted him for a new programmed fob, blade cut, and the programming appointment, and told him it would be about a week because the key had to be ordered by VIN through BMW's ELV database. He called me and asked if that timeline was real.
I met him in the parking lot with my VVDI2 and a blank N5F-ID21A fob. His 7 Series had the CAS4+ module, so I connected through the OBD port, read the ISN from the DME, and synced the new key's Hitag2 Pro transponder to the car. Cut the HU100R emergency blade on my Condor machine right on the tailgate. Programmed the remote, tested Comfort Access on all four doors and the trunk lid, and confirmed the start button picked up both fobs.
The whole thing took about 40 minutes. He stood there holding both keys and just sort of weighed them in his hands like he was comparing them.
He walked away with two working keys for a fraction of what the dealer wanted for one. On a CAS4+ BMW, the price gap between add-a-key and all-keys-lost is serious, because AKL means pulling the DME and doing bench work. A spare now saves real money later.
