2002 Buick Regal Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Downtown Ventura has some streets that just quietly dead-end into hillside. No turnaround, no flatbed access, nothing. A documentary filmmaker called me from one of them.
His 2002 Buick Regal was parked at the end of a dead-end street near a canyon trail, fob gone, and the car going nowhere without either a key or a tow truck. The dealer told him he needed a tow first, then they would handle it. The tow company took one look at the street description and passed.
He called me instead.
I parked where the asphalt ended and walked the rest of the way down with my bag. The Regal had been sitting there since the night before. He was calm about it by then, which told me he had already burned through the frustrated part of this situation.
The fob for this car is a 3-button remote that pairs to the vehicle through the OBD port. I had the right blank in my bag, built the fob on site, and ran the programming sequence right there on that dead-end street with the canyon sitting at the end of it.
The car never moved until he drove it out himself. He saved a good chunk compared to what the dealer quoted, and that was before adding the tow he could not get scheduled anyway.
