2014 Chevrolet Cruze Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Downtown Oxnard, middle of the afternoon, a guy's 2014 Chevrolet Cruze sitting at a meter with half a key stuck in the ignition. The other half was in his palm. He kept looking at both pieces like they might explain themselves.

He had already called another locksmith who told him the ignition cylinder would need to be drilled out and replaced. New cylinder, new keys, big job. He called me for a second opinion.

I got my B106 Lishi into the cylinder and extracted the broken fragment without touching the wafer surfaces inside. Slow work, but the kind of slow that saves a lock. Once it came out clean, I decoded each wafer position to get the exact cut depths for a new blade.

His Cruze uses the OHT01060512 flip key with the Hitag2 transponder chip on the ID46 protocol. I cut the new blade from the decode, cloned the transponder through OBD on the Body Control Module, and tested all five remote buttons: lock, unlock, trunk, remote start, panic.

No drilling. No new cylinder. His original lock works with the new key exactly like it worked with the old one. He sat there turning it in the ignition a few times, just to watch it work. I get that a lot.

The whole thing took maybe 40 minutes, parked right behind his car on the street.
