2025 Infiniti QX60
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

Q: How fast can you get to me near El Rio in Oxnard?

Usually within 30 minutes of your call, depending on where I am when you reach me. I run a mobile setup, so the key blanks, cutting equipment, and programming tools for Infiniti are already in the van. No waiting for a bay, no scheduling around someone else's appointment. You call, I head to you.

Q: Can I get a replacement key made today, same day?

Yes, and that's the main reason people skip the dealer for this. Infiniti dealers often have to order smart key assemblies by VIN, and owners on the forums consistently report multi-day waits just to get the part in, then another wait for the appointment itself. I stock key blanks for current Infiniti vehicles on the van, and the programming equipment comes with me. Same-day service in the Oxnard area is the normal outcome, not the exception.

Q: My QX60 fob is working fine but the emergency blade inside it is bent or broken. Do I need to replace the whole fob?

No. The emergency blade is a separate component that slides into the fob housing. If the blade is the only thing damaged and the fob itself still communicates with the car, you don't need to touch the smart key programming at all. It's a mechanical cut to your vehicle's specifications, matched to the door cylinder and ignition. A lot of owners don't realize the two are independent until they've already been quoted for a full fob replacement they didn't need.

Q: What happens if I lose all my keys for a 2025 QX60 and none of them work?

All-keys-lost on a current QX60 is a job that requires professional diagnostic equipment. There's no ignition-turn sequence or button trick that works on this system. A technician connects to the OBD port, goes through the vehicle security system's PIN extraction or authorization process, clears the existing key memory, and then enrolls new keys. It takes longer than a standard add-a-key job, and some all-keys-lost situations on newer Infiniti vehicles involve additional server-side authorization steps depending on the tools being used.

2025 Infiniti QX60 Emergency Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Out in El Rio, I got a call from a woman who'd been locked out of her 2025 QX60 for about two hours before she reached me.

The story was simple: her smart fob took a hit, the housing cracked, and somewhere in the chaos the emergency blade insert had separated from the fob. The fob still worked to unlock the car, but the mechanical blade was gone and she had an upcoming road trip where she wasn't about to rely on a cracked fob with no backup.

She'd called the Infiniti dealer first. They told her they'd need to order the part and get her in. That was going to be days out, not same-day.

I pulled up to her driveway in El Rio, looked at the cracked fob, and got to work cutting a replacement blade to match her lock. We tested it in the door cylinder and the ignition before I handed it back. The fob itself was still pairing and the car was happy.

She asked me what would've happened if the fob had died completely too. I walked her through what that would look like, a full smart key replacement, different job, different tools, more time. She appreciated knowing the difference. That's usually the part nobody explains until they're already paying for it.

Infiniti QX60 Mobile Service FAQ

Real costs, no dealer surprises

How long does a 2025 Infiniti QX60 key replacement take?▼

Depends on what you actually need. If it's just the emergency blade cut to match your locks, that's a short job, under 30 minutes on-site. If you need a full smart key replacement with programming through the OBD port, plan for 30 to 60 minutes. All-keys-lost is the longest scenario because there's a security access step involved before new keys can be enrolled, and that adds time. Most calls I get for the QX60 are somewhere in the middle.
