1999 Subaru Legacy Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I got a call on a Saturday evening from someone staying up in the Santa Susana Knolls area of Simi Valley. He was renting a cabin for the weekend, had his 1999 Legacy parked in the driveway, and his key fob had stopped responding entirely. The car started fine, but he couldn't get the remote to do anything.

When I pulled up, he handed me the fob. CR2025 inside was the original, no telling how old. I popped it, cleaned the contacts, and dropped in a fresh battery. Nothing. I had the correct replacement shell in the van. Transferred the board over, seated a new CR2025, and we were back. Lock, unlock, all four buttons working. Tested from across the driveway and he had solid range again.
