Once the transponder was live, I paired the GQ43VT14T remote using the lock/unlock sequence the car expects.

Then the part she didn't expect. I walked about 30 feet across the lot and tested lock, unlock, panic, and trunk. Came back, started the car three times in a row to catch any intermittent fault where the IMMO light stays solid or blinks and the engine cranks but won't fire. That pattern means the transponder isn't being read, and it's better to catch it standing there than at a gas station later.

She watched the whole thing from a folding chair on the sideline. When all four buttons worked and the car started clean every time, she just nodded and went back to the game. No tow, no dealer wait, done before halftime.
