2022 Toyota Camry
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2022 Toyota Camry Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Guy called me from near Peach Hill in Moorpark, close to nine at night. Empty office park, nobody around, one key and it was gone. He'd checked his jacket, his desk, the parking lot. Nothing. He was already Googling tow companies when he found me.

First thing he said was he didn't have his registration with him and didn't know his VIN. That's usually where the panic comes from. I told him to walk to the driver's side of the windshield and look at the base of the glass. He found it in about thirty seconds. Checked his insurance app for the rest.

With the VIN I knew exactly what I was rolling out with. The 2022 Camry takes a 4-button smart fob and the whole job means cutting the emergency insert blade, programming the fob through the OBD port, and verifying every function before I call it done. I had the right blank loaded before I left.

When I got there he was sitting on the curb with his phone at eleven percent. I set up under the lot lights, cut the blade to his car, ran the programming sequence, and walked every button. Lock, unlock, panic, the fourth button. Then I had him try the door handles and the start button with the fob in his pocket, the way you'd actually use it. Everything was solid.

He drove home that night. The dealer quote he pulled up on his phone while we talked was more than double what he paid me, and they wouldn't have been open for two more days anyway.

If you're ever in that spot, the VIN is the one thing that moves the job forward fastest. Text it to me before I arrive and I'll show up ready.
