I got a call from a woman in Santa Paula's East Area 2 on a weekday afternoon. She had been dealing with her 2019 Trax fob for about two weeks before she called me. She asked why I was starting and stopping it repeatedly. I told her one good start proves nothing. Three consecutive clean reads with no hesitation proves the fob and the vehicle are communicating the way they should, not just getting lucky once.
The dealer had been her backup plan. She mentioned the service department told her she was probably looking at a full fob replacement and programming, which would have meant leaving the car, waiting, and paying for something she did not need.
