Got a call from a woman at her office off Patterson Road in Oxnard. She needed a spare for her 2010 Ford Flex and had already called the Ford dealer. I pulled up next to her Flex in the parking lot, plugged my IM608 into the OBD-II port under the dash, and pulled PATS data. Her system had two keys already registered. I cut the OUCD6000022 remote head key on site, programmed the 4D-63 80-bit transponder through the diagnostic port, and synced the three-button remote in the same session. About 25 minutes total, most of that spent on the cut and the PATS handshake cycle.
Then the part that actually matters: testing. Lock, unlock, trunk release, all three buttons at distance. Clean ignition start, no theft light blinking on the cluster. I walked around and hit the remote from the far end of the lot just to check range.
She came back out with her coffee, clicked the new key once, watched the locks cycle, and just nodded.
Her whole cost was a fraction of what the dealer wanted, and she never left work.
