A condo owner near Gonzales Road in Oxnard called me about his 2014 Flex stuck on the second level of an underground parking garage. Low ceiling, tight turns, no way a flatbed was getting down there. The Flex uses a 5-button smart key, FCC ID M3N-5WY8609, part number 164-R8092, with an 80-bit PATS transponder tied to the PCM. His was an all-keys-lost situation, so I connected my programmer through the OBD-II port and ran the PATS incode/outcode procedure on the instrument cluster module. The system enforced its 10-minute security countdown before it would accept the new key data. While that ticked down, I cut an HU101 blade to match his door lock using my van-mounted cutter, then built out the fob with a fresh CR2032 and a programmed transponder chip.
Once the countdown cleared, key registration took about two minutes. I tested start, lock, unlock, hatch release, and panic. Everything responded clean.
He stood there watching the dash the whole time, like he was waiting for it to throw a fault. It did not. He drove out of that garage on his own about 40 minutes after I walked in. The car never had to move until he was behind the wheel.
