A guy near the Ventura Road shopping corridor in Oxnard texted me a GPS pin from a dirt parking area off a trailhead. His 2015 Ford Flex was sitting there, locked, and his only smart key was somewhere on a trail he'd just hiked.

I decoded his HU101 lock cylinder on the driver door, then cut a fresh emergency insert blade on my mobile machine at the tailgate of my van. For the smart key side, I connected my programmer through the OBD-II port, backed up his PATS module data, and registered a new M3N-5WY8609 proximity fob with all five buttons. The PATS security handshake has a built-in timed delay per key, so there was a short wait while the system cycled.
His Flex started right there in the dirt lot. He sat in the driver seat for a second and just looked at the dash, like he was waiting for something to go wrong. Nothing did.
The whole thing took less than an hour, on site, for a fraction of what a dealer plus tow truck would have run him.
