A mechanic shop near Wilson Park in Oxnard called me after another locksmith walked off the job. Their customer's 2007 Focus needed an all-keys-lost replacement, and the first tech's attempt went sideways when the car battery sagged mid-programming. The BCM threw a security fault and locked everything out. The other guy packed up.
When I got there the Focus was just sitting in the bay with the hood up and a dead look on the dash. I clipped my jump pack to the battery posts before touching anything else. Stable 12.6 volts, verified with a meter, not just a guess. Then I cleared the stored PATS fault codes through my IM608 so the BCM wasn't still stuck on the failed handshake from the first attempt.
Clean slate. I ran the all-keys-lost procedure, wrote the 4D63 80-bit transponder to the new OUC6000022 remote-head key, and it learned on the first pass. The theft light on the dash cycled and went off. Engine cranked.
The mechanic watched the whole thing from the fender. I walked him through why the voltage drop killed the first attempt, because if he ever sees a customer come in with a weak battery before a key job, a heads-up saves everyone time.
Took about an hour and a half, which is longer than a normal Focus key job. But the alternative was a flatbed ride to the dealer and a multi-day wait for a fraction of that hassle.
