Got a call from a guy near the Carpinteria Seal Sanctuary who was locked out of his 1998 Accent. He had one key his whole ownership, and it finally snapped off in the driver door lock. Half the blade was still jammed in the cylinder.

Then I decoded the wafer positions from the existing blade pieces and from the ignition cylinder to get the full bitting. Cut a fresh HY14 blank in the van, tested it in the door, the trunk, and the ignition.
He stood there watching the whole thing and kept looking back at the seals on the beach like he was embarrassed to be stressed about a car key with that view ten feet away.
Whole job took maybe 25 minutes. No tow, no two-day wait, no lock cylinder replacement. Just a clean extraction, a fresh cut, and a working key handed over on the spot for a fraction of what the dealer quoted.
