2017 Hyundai Accent Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A guy in Ventura, over along the Telegraph Road shopping corridor near one of those big parking lots behind the strip malls, called me because his 2017 Accent remote had stopped doing anything. Lock, unlock, trunk, all dead. He was standing next to the car holding the fob and pressing buttons like maybe the hundredth click would be the charm.
I pulled up behind him in the van. Popped open the TQ8-RKE-4F14 remote right on his trunk lid. The CR2032 was original, stamped 2016 on the cell. Over five years in there. But the real problem was the positive battery contact tab inside the shell. It had a tiny crack where the metal meets the plastic post, probably from the shell flexing over time. The remote was making intermittent contact at best.
I had a replacement 95430-1R300 shell in the van. Transferred the board over, dropped in a fresh CR2032, and tested all four buttons. Lock worked from about 30 feet. Unlock, trunk, panic, all solid.
He kept turning the new remote over in his hand like he was checking if it was really the same thing. It was. Same guts, just a housing that was not falling apart.
The whole thing took about ten minutes in the parking lot. He had been quoted a wait of a few days through the dealer to order a replacement. He drove home that afternoon with a working remote and no appointment needed.
