A trade school student parked in the Downtown Oxnard lot near his campus, and his fob just stopped talking to the car. Not dead-dead, but nothing was responding. Door handles weren't waking up, the start button saw nothing. He had a lab exam at 3pm. It was Tuesday morning.
He called the nearest Hyundai dealer. First available appointment was Friday. They wouldn't budge on that, and he had no way to move the car in the meantime without a tow.

That would have been the whole job, except I always walk the functions before I pack up. Lock, unlock, the remaining two buttons, both door handles, the start button with the fob at distance. Everything checked out.
He made his exam. I was back on the road before noon. The dealer would have had him towing the car in Thursday, sitting Friday morning, and paying for a full programming visit on top of it for a problem that turned out to be a shifted battery tray.
I don't mention that part to make myself look good. I mention it because it's what actually happens when the dealer is the only option.
