I was parked off Main Street near Midtown Ventura finishing up another job when the call came in. Woman at the Aldi lot on Johnson Drive, 2007 Hyundai Accent, no start. She had one key and it had stopped working that morning.
When I pulled up she was sitting on a bench outside the store with her groceries, just waiting. She told me she'd called the dealer first. Cut the blade on site, tested the lock and unlock on the remote, started the engine twice to confirm the transponder handshake was solid. Groceries still cold by the time I handed her the key.
The dealer turnaround would have been two days and a tow bill on top of everything else. We were done in under thirty minutes, and she drove herself home.
