A guy near Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura had just picked up a 2010 Hyundai Accent off Craigslist. Clean title, decent shape, one key. The seller told him to get a spare on his own. He figured a Hyundai key would be cheap. The dealer corrected that fast.

I met him in the hospital parking area and got to work. His Accent runs the Philips/NXP ID46 transponder chip on Hyundai's standard HYN14 edge-cut keyway. I used my VVDI2 to clone the ID46 from his working key onto a fresh blank so the immobilizer accepted it without a full system reset or PIN extraction. Cut the blade on my Condor, then synced the three-button remote (lock, unlock, trunk) through OBD using the PINHA-T038 frequency at 315 MHz.
He watched the whole thing from about two feet away. When both keys started the car and the remote locked from across the lot, he just nodded and said "that's it?" That's it.
Now he's got two working keys for a fraction of what the dealer wanted for one. And more importantly, his next key situation is a simple add-a-key instead of an all-keys-lost job. On these Accents, AKL means PIN extraction from the Shin Chang immobilizer box, sometimes bench work on the 93C56 EEPROM. The price difference between those two jobs is real. Getting a spare now is the cheapest insurance he'll buy this year.
