I got a call from Upper Village in Montecito on a Tuesday morning. A homeowner had pulled her only key out of her bag and found the bow cracked through, the blade still usable but the transponder portion of the key head damaged. She had managed to start the car once that morning, babying it in, and then it died in the driveway. The car would crank but not catch.
