2008 Mazda 6 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Her bakery opens at 6am. The delivery run starts at 4:45. Her 2008 Mazda 6 was sitting behind the bakery in Cold Spring with a fob that had been getting weaker for weeks and finally stopped waking the car entirely. Bread was loaded and restaurants were waiting.
She called the Mazda dealer's emergency line. They told her to call back when service opened at 8. She called me at 4:30am.
I was in Montecito by 5. Got the door open, plugged into the OBD port, and pulled up the key registration system. The fob had a dead CR2025 and corroded contacts inside the housing. The vehicle security system had stopped seeing it entirely. The housing itself had a small crack at the hinge, probably from years of being tossed on a counter.
New fob, clean contacts on the replacement, programmed through the diagnostic port with the security enrollment sequence, then a full test: push-button start, door lock, door unlock, every button confirmed working before I closed up.
She was on her delivery route by 5:40am. The dealer wasn't even open yet. Three restaurants got their bread on time because I keep the right parts in my van before the sun comes up.
