2004 Nissan Armada Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A shop owner over in Heritage Valley called me about a spare key for his 2004 Armada. He was direct about it: he wanted to know if an aftermarket remote-head key would actually hold up or if he'd be handing customers a key that fell apart in six months.
Fair question. He ran a business. He needed a daily-driver spare, not a junk drawer backup.
I pulled up in front of his place with the blank already matched to his fob's button count and blade profile. We talked while I cut it. He wanted to know what the difference was between what I carried and what the dealer would sell him. Honest answer: the factory fob has the Nissan logo embossed on the back and a brand premium built into the price. The aftermarket blank I use has the same button layout, same battery compartment, same snap-fit housing, and the transponder the immobilizer expects to see. The blade gets cut to his vehicle, not to a generic spec. Functionally, the daily experience is the same.
What actually separates a good aftermarket blank from a bad one is sourcing. I have pulled cheap blanks out of other people's jobs where the button membranes started peeling in two months. I test every batch before it rides in the van. His key programmed clean, remote functions confirmed on all three buttons, ignition tested, and he had it in his hand before I'd even packed the cutter back up.
He saved a good chunk compared to the dealer route and didn't have to schedule an appointment or leave the vehicle anywhere overnight.
