2024 Nissan Armada Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call from a guy out at a boat launch near Five Points in Oxnard. He had been out on the water all morning, came back to his 2024 Nissan Armada, and his only key was gone.
Checked his pockets, checked the boat, checked with the guys running the bait shop. Nothing. He assumed the car was stuck there until Monday when a dealer could help him. I told him I could be there the same afternoon.
When I pulled up, the Armada was sitting alone in the lot, locked up tight. No spare, no original, nothing to work from. I picked and decoded the door lock mechanically, reading each position so I could cut a blade that matched the vehicle exactly. Once I had that, I connected through the OBD port and ran the all-keys-lost sequence through the immobilizer. That process erases any previously registered fobs and enrolls the new key as the primary. It takes longer than a standard add-a-key job because of the timed steps built into the sequence, so I let it run while we talked fishing.
New smart fob, cut and programmed on site. I walked every button, checked door lock and unlock from a distance, and started the engine twice to confirm the immobilizer had accepted it. Then I cut him a second one so he would not be back in this situation.
He drove off the same afternoon. The dealer option would have required a tow, a Monday appointment, and a bill that made him wince when I mentioned it.
