2015 Nissan Armada Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call out to El Rio on a Tuesday afternoon. The guy had an Armada sitting in his driveway, and his fob was doing the thing where it works maybe sixty percent of the time. Some mornings it armed, some mornings it just sat there. He'd already done a battery, which was the right move, and it helped for about two weeks. Then back to the same lottery.
He was standing next to it when I pulled up. The fob felt okay in hand - no cracked shell, contacts looked clean. I went through the usual checks anyway. Ran diagnostics, pulled the key registration, looked at what the system was seeing. The existing fob had developed an intermittent communication issue. Not the battery this time. The fob itself.
I programmed a new fob on site, cut the emergency blade to match his door, and then did the part he didn't expect. I walked the car. Every button. Tested the handle touch unlock on both front doors. Walked back about thirty feet and ran lock and unlock again. Did three cold starts with the fob sitting naturally in my pocket, not held against the button, to confirm the system was picking it up passively the way it should.
He asked why I was starting it a third time. I told him one start is luck, two is a pattern, three tells the truth. He laughed at that.
He'd called the dealer first. They wanted him to leave it overnight and come back the next day. He got it back the same afternoon for a fraction of what they quoted, without losing the vehicle for twenty-four hours.
