Out in Channel Islands Beach, a night shift janitor flagged me down about his 2014 Armada. Another locksmith had made him a key about eight days prior. It worked at first. Then it started throwing "NO KEY DETECTED" on the dash every other evening, right when he needed to leave work.

Close enough to pair, wrong enough to fail. The 2014 Armada's NATS5 system on the 284B1-ZQ31A BCM is specific about that.
On top of the chip issue, his CR2025 was already weak. Proximity detection needs a solid battery to talk to the door handle antennas consistently, and a tired cell makes it look like the whole system is haunted.
I programmed a new CWTWBU624 with the correct ID46 crypto chip, fresh CR2025, tested every door handle for proximity unlock, tested lock-on-walk-away, ran the push button start a few cycles. All clean.
That was months ago. Still working. The difference between a key that holds and one that quits after a week is the chip generation inside it. Get that wrong and the car will eventually figure it out.
