2009 Nissan Maxima Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A home daycare operator near Oxnard Skate Park in Oxnard called me about her 2009 Maxima. The Intelligent Key shell had cracked near the emergency insert blade slot, and the rubber button pad was wearing through to the circuit board underneath. She had already been to the dealer. They quoted her a full replacement, new fob, cut, programmed, the whole thing. No mention that her internals were still perfectly fine.
I drove out that evening with aftermarket shells and my DAT17 Lishi.
Her fob was a KR55WK48903, part number 285E3-JA05A, four buttons on the face. I popped the old housing apart, lifted the board and the CR2032 contact plate out in one piece, and set them into the new shell. Same snap fit, same button layout. Then I decoded her driver door with the Lishi and cut a fresh emergency insert blade so she had a clean one instead of the nicked-up original.
Tested all four buttons from the driveway: lock, unlock, trunk, panic. Walked the push-button start twice. Checked range from about 15 feet out. Everything talked to the NATS system on the first try.
She watched the whole thing from her front step while two toddlers napped inside. Total time, maybe 25 minutes. Her one working key was back together, and the cracked shell went in my scrap bin. No reprogramming needed, no dealer visit, a fraction of what they wanted.
