2016 Nissan Maxima Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in the Midtown neighborhood of Ventura, a farm equipment salesman texted me a GPS pin from an orchard road. He had been visiting a client about 30 minutes outside town and his 2016 Nissan Maxima key had fallen out of his pocket somewhere between his truck and the field. No spare. No dealer within reasonable range. Car sitting in the dirt going nowhere.
I loaded up everything for his Maxima and drove to the pin.
His key was the KR5S180144014, five-button Intelligent Key running on Nissan's NATS6 immobilizer through the BCM (Continental board, part number 284B2-9PA0A on these eighth-gen Maximas). I backed up the immobilizer data with my ACDP as a precaution, decoded the NSN14 lock, and cut a fresh emergency insert blade on site. Then I registered the new fob through the OBD port.
His car started in the same dirt spot where it had been sitting all afternoon.
He stood there watching the dash cycle through normally, like he half expected it to throw another "KEY ID INCORRECT" at him. It didn't.
The whole thing took about 40 minutes on an orchard road that no flatbed would have enjoyed reaching. He drove off to finish his client visit. A dealer would have meant a tow plus days of waiting, for way more than what I charged him standing in the dirt.
