2015 Nissan Murano Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out near Refugio State Beach in Santa Barbara, a guy flagged me down on a Sunday. His 2015 Murano would crank for about two seconds and then die. Classic immobilizer fuel cutoff. He'd already paid another locksmith who programmed a KR5S180144014 smart key, told him the BCM was bad, and left.
The BCM was fine. The previous tech hadn't finished the NATS6 security registration. Nissan's system runs a timed handshake between the fob and the BCM. If you pull the cable or skip the countdown, the key data writes to temporary memory but never commits. The car sees the key on startup, fires the injectors, then kills them when the permanent check fails.
I used my NSN14 Lishi on the emergency insert to verify his mechanical cut was good. Connected through OBD with my IM608, pulled the BCM pin, and cleared out the half-written key data from the first attempt. Ran a clean IMMO learn with the full security timer and waited it out. His fob came back with all five buttons live, push-button start held steady, no fuel cutoff.
I showed him the registration confirmation on my screen so he could see both key slots written to permanent memory. He just nodded slowly, like he was deciding whether to be relieved or mad about the first guy.
I couldn't undo what the other tech charged him. But the car started right every time after that, which was the point.
