2016 Nissan Murano
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2016 Nissan Murano Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

There's a wine bar tucked into the Funk Zone, and the parking behind it is the kind of lot where you feel watched even when nobody's around. That's where I got the call.

The owner of the place had a 2016 Murano and two fobs. One had been sitting in a drawer for a year as a spare. He grabbed it that morning because his daily fob had gone missing, and now the spare wasn't doing anything reliably. Door handles weren't waking up. Sometimes the start button recognized it, sometimes it just sat there with a warning on the dash. He'd already replaced the battery himself, or thought he had.

I got there and he handed me the fob. New CR2032 inside, but it was a no-name cell from a gas station blister pack. Thin voltage under load. I swapped it for a quality cell, reseated it so both contacts were actually touching flat, and walked every function: both door handles, the lock and unlock buttons, the start button response. Clean across the board.

Then I checked the daily fob situation. He wanted a spare cut and programmed on the spot so he'd never be in this spot again. We did the add-a-key procedure right there in the lot, verified both fobs started the car and triggered the handles, and he was back inside before the lunch crowd hit.

The dealer had quoted him a two-day wait and a number that made him flinch. He paid a fraction of that, standing next to his own car, and didn't lose a shift.
