2024 Nissan Murano Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in Casitas Springs, there's a loose cluster of properties with long private driveways and horses tied near the fence lines. I got a call from a woman who kept her 2024 Murano parked on packed dirt outside a stable.
She'd watched enough of my YouTube work to know she didn't want to deal with a dealer. She said she recognized the tools from my Nissan videos before she even described the problem. That kind of call is easy to show up for.
The fob had been working intermittently for about two weeks. Some mornings the door handles responded to her touch, some mornings they didn't. She'd been walking around trying different handles, which is exactly the kind of thing that makes you think you have a bigger problem than you do. She'd already swapped the CR2032 herself, which was the right first move, but the issue came back.
When I looked at it, the battery contact on the fob had a slight downward bow. Not obvious, but enough that vibration from the drive out on rough road could break the connection for a moment. Straightened the contact, reseated the battery, and walked every door handle. Touch unlock on all four doors, the start button, and all five fob buttons tested clean. Three start cycles. Range check from the stable gate, which is a good distance from where she parks.
That was it. No new fob, no programming, no tow. Done in the dirt in about fifteen minutes, and she went back to feeding horses.
The dealer would have had her scheduling a service appointment, driving into Ventura proper, and waiting around. That didn't make sense for what she had.
