2007 Nissan Sentra
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2007 Nissan Sentra Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I got a call from a nursing student over near the J Street Corridor in Port Hueneme. She was standing in her apartment breezeway, late afternoon, holding her 2007 Nissan Sentra fob in two pieces.

The shell had cracked at the seam. The buttons were still there, but barely hanging together, and she was worried the whole thing was about to give out completely. She had one key. That was it.

She called the dealer first. They told her to tow the car in and quoted her a number that made her stomach drop. She assumed that was just what Nissan keys cost, so she started looking into tow options before a coworker told her to try a mobile locksmith instead.

I drove to her. She met me in the breezeway, Sentra parked right out front. I decoded the door lock, cut a replacement blade, and programmed the new fob to the vehicle using my diagnostic equipment. She watched the whole thing from about three feet away, which I actually prefer. No mystery, no waiting room, no second trip.

The fob worked. All four buttons tested clean. She held the new key, looked at it for a second, and said something like "that's it?"

That's it. Done on site, for a fraction of what the dealer wanted, and she never had to leave her block.
