2020 Nissan Sentra
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2020 Nissan Sentra Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I got a call from a man at the dialysis clinic off Loma Vista, here in Ventura. He was on a fixed income and made that trip three times a week. His 2020 Sentra was his lifeline to treatment, and his only Intelligent Key fob had stopped triggering the doors remotely. The car still started, but he knew he was one dead fob away from a real problem.

Getting to a dealer was not a simple errand for him. It was a logistical event he needed to plan around treatment days, transportation, and energy he did not always have left over.

I drove out to the clinic that morning. He was inside, so I worked from the car. Decoded the blade profile from the door lock, cut a second key, verified the mechanical side was good, then paired both fobs through the OBD port. By the time he was done with his session and walked out, he had two working keys and his original fob was re-confirmed paired correctly.

He said the dealer quoted him a number he was not going to pay, plus he would have needed someone to drive him there and back. That part stuck with me. The key job itself was the easy part. Getting out of his way so he could focus on his health was the whole point of showing up.
