2016 Nissan Sentra Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I work the Waterfront area pretty regularly. Stearns Wharf foot traffic, the hotels along Cabrillo, the parking structure behind the harbor. People come down here for the afternoon and something goes sideways with a key.
This one was a little different. A guy had driven in from out of town for a meeting near the harbor. Somewhere between the car and wherever he walked, the fob went missing. He wasn't locked out in the traditional sense. He still had the car. He just had no way to start it again once he came back to the lot, and his backup was at home, three hours away.
He found me, dropped his location, and I was there inside of 45 minutes.
I pulled out the replacement fob for his Sentra, verified the factory FCC ID matched what his car wanted, and got the programming done through the OBD port. Cut the emergency insert blade to his lock so he had a physical backup in the same unit. Walked every button, tested the door handles, watched the dash clear. The whole job happened in a parking lot two blocks from the water.
He mentioned the dealer. I told him what I knew: same-day Intelligent Key work at a Nissan dealer, when they can even fit you in, usually means leaving the car and waiting. He had a two-hour drive home that afternoon. That wasn't going to work. We got it done on site, for a fraction of what the dealer route would have cost him, and he made it out before the lot filled up with dinner traffic.
