I was parked off Channel Islands Boulevard heading into Marina West when she called. She had a working key but wanted a spare, and she had done everything right: VIN texted ahead, her registration pulled up on her phone, and she met me in the lot with both.

Then the part that matters: I walked every button, checked that the vehicle saw both fobs from a normal distance, and had her try the door handles herself before I closed anything up.
Two fobs, both registered, both tested. She asked about the dealer timeline as I was packing up. I told her what I usually hear: a couple of days to order the blank, then a return appointment to program. She saved a good chunk and did not lose her car for two days.
