Over in the Lynn Ranch neighborhood in Thousand Oaks, a woman had been fighting her 2012 CTS for about a week. The push-to-start would fire the engine in the morning, no issues. By afternoon, the dash would throw "Key Not Detected" and the car just sat there cranking but killing fuel after two seconds. She thought it was electrical. Took it to a shop. That's why it worked in the morning and got worse as the day went on.
I programmed a fresh M3N5WY7777A with the correct Hitag2 crypto seed matched to her BCM, cut a new HU100 emergency blade, and dropped in a fresh CR2032 while I was at it. The old battery was reading 2.7 volts, which wasn't helping the range problem either.
Tested every button, walked the perimeter checking proximity unlock on all four doors and the trunk. Months later, still no callbacks. The difference between a key that works and one that works for a week comes down to the chip profile inside it.
