2015 Cadillac CTS Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A condo owner over in the Westlake Village area called me after trying the Cadillac dealer first. They told him to bring the car in for a replacement smart key and quoted a wait time of about a week. He had one working fob on his 2015 CTS and just wanted a spare before that one gave out. Reasonable thought.
I met him at his building and set up on the hood. His door lock was the starting point. I used a GM Z Lishi to decode the HU100 wafer positions one by one, reading each cut depth so I could make an exact emergency blade without needing the original. Some techs skip this and just clone the working blade, but reading the lock tells you what the car actually wants.
Cut the blade, then moved to programming. Connected through the OBD-II port and wrote the new HYQ2AB fob to the BCM. The system did its timed handshake, cycled through confirmation, and registered the new key ID alongside his existing one. Tested push-button start, passive entry on all four doors, trunk release, remote start. Everything responded clean.
The whole job took about 40 minutes. He watched most of it from his front steps with a coffee. Never moved his car, never sat in a dealer lounge, saved a good chunk off what they quoted him.
