If the battery is good, the next thing to look at is whether the fob has taken physical damage. A cracked housing or a battery contact that's shifted can cause intermittent reads even with a fresh cell.

If neither of those explains it, the issue may be on the vehicle side, specifically with one of the interior antennas that reads the fob for push-button start. That's a diagnostic job, not a fob replacement job, and it's worth knowing the difference before spending money on a new key.
