2006 Cadillac Escalade Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call from a guy near Bolker Park in Port Hueneme. He was visiting from out of state, parked his 2006 Escalade at the place he was staying, and the next morning his only remote was completely dead. Lock button, unlock, remote start, nothing. He tried the mechanical key blade in the driver door and that worked fine, but the truck wouldn't start. Dash just said "THEFT SYSTEM" and sat there.
He called the nearest Cadillac dealer. They told him it would be a tow plus at least a day wait for a service bay opening. He wasn't thrilled about that.
I drove out that evening. Plugged into the OBD-II port under the dash and pulled codes. The body control module, GM part number on this one was a 15116066 series BCM, had dropped the remote from its learned list. Happens sometimes when a battery gets weak enough that the internal code corrupts.
Programmed a fresh LHJ011 fob, cut the Y160-PT blade right in the van, and ran the key learn procedure through the BCM. Whole thing took about 35 minutes, most of that being the relearn sequence itself. Tested lock, unlock, hatch release, and remote start from 30 feet away.
He was back on the road that same night. No tow, no dealer waiting room, a fraction of what they quoted him.
