2024 Cadillac Escalade
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

Q: How do I know you are not a scam locksmith?

Scam locksmiths love a luxury badge. The pattern is consistent: low number quoted on the phone, a different number produced once they are standing next to your Escalade. Some will invent a procedure name, claim the vehicle requires something special, and use that to justify doubling the price on the spot.

Q: Will the replacement key work exactly like the original?

Yes. Once programmed, the replacement fob communicates with the vehicle the same way the factory key does. Lock, unlock, and the other buttons all function as they should. We test every single button on site before we hand it over. One thing worth knowing: fobs bought online and programmed by someone without the right equipment sometimes pair partially -- door locks work but other functions do not register correctly.

Q: My Escalade fob range dropped suddenly. Doors barely unlock from ten feet away. Is the fob dying?

Short range is one of the first signs the CR2450 is going. On the 2024 Escalade, a fob that used to work from across a parking lot and now barely reaches the door handle almost always comes back to the battery. Swap in a fresh CR2450 -- not a generic off-brand cell, a quality name-brand one -- and retest from distance.

Q: I lost both keys to my 2024 Escalade. Can you still make a key, or does it have to go to the dealer?

All-keys-lost on the 2024 Escalade is something we handle. It takes longer than adding a key when you have a working one -- the security system has to go through a full reset sequence before new fobs can be enrolled, and that process has a timed cycle built in. Budget closer to an hour on site.

2024 Cadillac Escalade Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I was already in Oxnard when the call came in from College Estates. An insurance agent, 8:15 in the morning, meeting at 9, Escalade sitting dead in her office lot. The push-to-start was not responding, and she had a client coming in 45 minutes she could not move.

I was at her lot in about 20 minutes.

She handed me the fob and I could tell right away the battery had been low for a while. These fobs will throw a key-not-detected warning on the cluster and start refusing to communicate with the vehicle security system before they go fully dark. That is where she was. I got into the vehicle, connected through the OBD port, and cleared the communication fault. Fresh CR2450 in the fob, contacts cleaned, re-paired.

Total hands-on time was around 20 minutes. I walked every button before I handed it back and made sure the start system was reading the fob consistently, not just once.

She made her 9am meeting. The dealer would have been a tow, a wait, and most of her morning gone. She texted me that afternoon.

Cadillac Escalade Mobile Service FAQ

Real costs, no dealer surprises

Are you licensed and insured to work on Cadillac vehicles?▼

Yes. EZ Car Keyz is fully licensed through the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS License LCO#6792) and carries full insurance. We are also NASTF Vehicle Security Professional certified, which matters specifically for late-model Cadillac work. The 2024 Escalade uses a current-generation security architecture, and accessing the programming protocols for that system requires authorized credentials and active subscriptions to GM security data. Not every locksmith carries those.
