Out in La Conchita, the 101 is right there and people move fast. This particular Monday morning, a guy was sitting in a cell phone lot with a Grand Caravan that wasn't responding to the fob at all - no lock, no unlock, nothing. He'd flown in, had a week of back-to-back meetings, and the van was just sitting there ignoring him.

He tried the fob a few dozen times, the way everyone does. Then he called the dealer and got Thursday as the earliest slot. Then a tow company. Then he found me.
