His 2001 Grand Caravan was the family hauler. Kids, gear bags, folding chairs, the works. He couldn't afford a no-start with a van full of ten-year-olds after practice.

I decoded his lock cylinder with my Y157 Lishi, cut a fresh BY160-PT blank, and programmed the PCF7935 transponder through OBD using the factory PIN procedure off the SKIM. The 2001 Grand Caravan doesn't need two working keys to add a third like some later SKIM-II vehicles do. PIN extraction, program, done.
I tested the start, cycled the ignition off and on, then let the van sit for five minutes. Intermittent SKIM faults on these sometimes only show up after a short soak period when the module resets its polling cycle. Clean start on the second try too.
He asked what the dealer would have charged. I just said it would have been a lot more and a lot slower. He nodded like he already knew.
